Editor's Note
Built in the mid-14th century by the Eretnid emir Taşkın Paşa, this mosque is the main building of a complex that also includes a madrasa, a summer mosque, and the tombs of Taşkın and Hızır Paşa. It has a dome in front of the mihrab and three aisles running perpendicular to the mihrab. The aisles are covered with barrel vaults of pointed-arch profile. The mosque, which has a baldachin minaret on its roof, possesses a very distinctive mihrab and minbar made of walnut wood in the kündekâri (interlocking joinery) technique, now on display at the Ankara Ethnography Museum.
