In August 2025, during the cleaning of a rock-cut section of a house used as a "woodshed/coal store" in the village of Taşkınpaşa (Damsa), in the Ürgüp district of Nevşehir, a small place of worship containing a stone-carved mihrab was brought to light. The first announcements came after a surface survey and cleaning work carried out by the Art History Department team of Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University (NEVÜ); it was reported that the space had been used as an Islamic place of worship, dated to the Eretna Beylik period, and—based on architectural and stylistic evidence—is roughly six centuries old (14th–15th century).
