Editor's Note
Sevserek Han is a historic structure in Battalgazi, Malatya, built on a north-south axis. The door opening onto its main iwan has been destroyed, and to its west are two rooms, one of them vaulted. Coins found during excavations show that the building dates from 1230 onwards, spanning the Seljuk and late Ottoman periods. Sevserek Han I and Han II, 80 metres to its east, formed an important staging point in the Seljuk period but lost this function in the Ottoman era.
