About 3 km northwest of Urla lies Kuşçular, one of the old Turkish villages, known to have had a population of 200 to 250. The Helvacılar Mosque stands in the abandoned part of Kuşçular village. This southeastern section of the village is known as Helvacılar. The mosque has no construction inscription.
