When it became clear that Kalender's force numbered 3,000 to 4,000 men, İbrahim Pasha sent Bilal Mehmed and Divane Pervane, two of the table-stewards with him, against the rebels with a force of 500. On June 22, 1527, the troops caught up with the rebels at the Başsaz highland pasture, defeated them, put the survivors to the sword, and beheaded their leaders, Kalender Çelebi and Divane Dündar of the Dulkadirids.
