Editor's Note
It was built between 1212 and 1240 by Mubarizüddin Çavlı, governor of Elbistan. Tahsin Özgüç writes the following about the Çavlı Han north of Elbistan: "Unfortunately this site has been destroyed. It stood on the slope of a mound on the main Hurmankale-Elbistan-Malatya road. The ruin shows that this caravanserai was built by Emir Mubariz al-Din Çavlı, governor of Elbistan, and that it was the largest han after the Karatay caravanserai."
