Editor's Note
Omer Aga Mansion was built in the 1430s during the reign of Nasureddin Mehmed Bey, ruler of the Dulkadirid Beylik, and stands out as the oldest surviving example of civil architecture in Afsin. Belonging to the Haciismailoglu dynasty, the building was long known as 'Mehmed Aga's House' and 'the House of the Aghas,' and in the 19th century, during the mayoralty of Haciismailoglu Mehmed Aga, a leading figure of the dynasty, it became an important center. Its use as a headquarters during the War of Independence further reinforced the mansion's historic role.
