In 1918, an association was founded under the leadership of Dr. Ali Saim, and the foundations of today's hospital building were laid. When Aydin province fell under occupation in 1919, Dr. Saim Bey moved to Cine and construction could not be completed. While Aydin and its surroundings were under Greek occupation during the War of Independence, the building served as a Greek army post. During the great transformation after the war, it was used as temporary lodging for migrants. It later became the Aydin State Hospital, operating with two physicians around 1928.
