Editor's Note
The translation of its inscription from Ottoman Turkish is as follows: 'May God bless it; a fountain was built upon this road. Its greatness is beyond dispute - Seyyid Yeğen Ağa. How beautiful, how lovely this fountain of life-giving water in its place; may it be a call to the thirsty of the community on the path of God. May God increase the life of that benefactor, that exalted person, with health and good fortune. Whoever passes along this road, when drinking the water, let him offer a prayer for the souls of his mother and father. O Reşik, having heard of it, I too gave the date: a refreshing fountain became as if the Well of Zamzam. Year: November 1785. Mashallah.' See.
