This Byzantine fortress (5th century AD), set on a mountaintop on the northern border of Lykaonia, stands on Bozdağ about 1.5 km northwest of Zengicek (Koçyaka), which lies 57 km north of Ikonion. In the Middle Byzantine period this fortress controlled the north-south (vertical) Lykaonian link between Cangusso and Petro. It is a polygonal fortress about forty metres across on a rocky plateau. To the southwest it forms a stepped structure with a simple rocky terrace. To the north-northeast runs a protective rampart along a round tower, which requires a forward wall.
