Its inscription reads: "Since this bath was completed as a charitable work, may God keep it standing until the Day of Resurrection. The owner of this bath is Muhammed bin Mustafa; the date, the year 908 (AH 908 / AD 1502-3)." Although it has been associated with Germiyanoğlu Sungur Bey, the inscription shows it to be a 16th-century work. Sungur Bey himself lived in the 14th century and in that period built a complex comprising a caravanserai, a bath and a mosque, but that complex has not survived. See Research Assistant.
