The Mardinike Complex (külliye), northeast of the Hasankeyf Lower Town, is an important complex whose excavations were begun by Prof. Dr. Oluş Arık and completed in 2008–2010 under Prof. Dr. Abdüsselam Uluçam. The complex consists of Block I to the north, with a porticoed courtyard housing a mosque and a madrasa, and Block II to the south, containing a mosque, a lodge (zaviye), a soup kitchen (imaret), an inn (han), monumental tomb chambers and ceramic workshops. Today it lies underwater.
