The Hasankeyf Old Cemetery lies south of the Tigris River and west of the Mardinike Complex; excavations carried out in 2006 established the periods and styles of the graves. Alongside graves that retain their original form, the site also holds partly damaged examples. The headstones bear inscriptions in Ayyubid naskh and Ottoman thuluth scripts, along with floral ornament such as rumi, palmette, lotus and cypress motifs.
