The Mevlana Mosque lies in the southwest of the Lower Town, in the centre of the Hasankeyf district of Batman province. The building, which bears no inscription, is thought to date to a late period and has largely lost its original architectural features owing to concrete repairs. Made up of a courtyard, a pool and a portico, the mosque has a single-aisled prayer hall on a transverse rectangular plan to the south. The building was reopened for worship after the repairs were carried out. It was later submerged underwater.
