Editor's Note
The Er-Rızk Mosque is one of the important Ayyubid-period works to survive in Hasankeyf; it was commissioned in 1409 by the Ayyubid ruler Abu'l-Mafakhir Süleyman. Standing south of the Tigris River, between the castle and the Hasankeyf Bridge, the mosque is largely destroyed today. A landslide brought down the prayer hall to the south, but the north wall, the courtyard's entrance façade, the crown portal and the minaret have remained standing. The crown portal, ornamented with advanced stonework, and the minaret, adorned with coloured stone inlays, are the building's most monumental features.
