Editor's Note

Thought to date from the 19th century, this residence is known as the Sultanhan or Pasolar House. Used until the mid-20th century by a large farming family, it has now lost its residential function and serves as a restaurant. The historic dwelling stands on Bahar Street in the Camikebir Quarter, set on the flat ground of Kaleici, the old settlement of Kusadasi. The two-storey timber-and-masonry building with a courtyard retains its original elements.
