Editor's Note
Directly opposite the entrance, which has marble columns on either side, there is a double-flight staircase leading to the upper floor. While the registration records note that it was one of the first buildings constructed in the city during the Republican period, the research of Erhan Yılmaz and Mahmut Ökçesiz shows from archival records that it was completed and ready for opening in 1891.
