The Panionium was an Ionian sanctuary dedicated to Poseidon Helikonios and the meeting place of the Ionian League, set on the north-facing slope of Mount Mycale near Güzelçamlı in the Kuşadası district of Aydın. As described by Herodotus, the Ionians assembled here from their cities to hold the festival they called the Panionia.
