Editor's Note
The Basarakavak Han, also known popularly as the Basarali Han, stands at the Tepekoy road junction. The structure, which has survived intact to the present day, has rooms divided by arches and is built entirely with vaulted domes. Its building style recalls the ice-houses of Konya. The caravanserai has no summer section, and all its rooms were planned as covered spaces. Built of cut stone with meticulous workmanship, the caravanserai is architecturally valuable; it is now in private ownership and used as a livestock pen. The caravanserai lies in a marshy, reedy area; it has an arched door facing west and two small windows opposite it.
