Editor's Note
Construction: AH 1081 (AD 1670). The mosque, which has come down to the present with some repairs, largely retains its original character and continues to fulfill its function. The building, with a transverse rectangular plan, measures roughly 13.00 x 30.60 meters on the outside. The prayer hall is covered by four domes of differing diameters; in its northwest corner is a tomb, and on the east side of the north facade stands a single-balcony minaret. It is believed that there was previously a three-bay portico in the middle section of the north facade. In the wall and roofing system of the building, finely dressed yellowish trachyte stone was used, basalt stone in the piers, and marble for the minbar and one of the doors.
