Editor's Note
The building has no construction inscription. However, the features of its plan and mihrab elements show a strong resemblance to the Karamanid-period mosques and masjids in Nigde and Bor. Moreover, the building's name appears in a land-survey register dated 1476 AD. For this reason, the prevailing view is that it was built in the early 15th century. Having come down to the present with some repairs, the mosque retains its original character and function. A simple space serving as a portico was added to the north side of the prayer hall, and one or two rooms along with a toilet and ablution taps were built in the courtyard area.
