The Hurufat registers use the phrase "the mosque built by Hacı Veli at Emrudlu Vineyard in the Hacı Mahmud neighborhood." Although the Directorate of Religious Affairs sign on the mosque gives the date 1850, the Hurufat registers show a list of people appointed to the mosque up to the mid-1730s. It was most likely built toward the middle of the 18th century. Through repairs and additions, the mosque has lost almost all of its original features.
