Editor's Note
Built as a school during the reign of Abdülhamid II, the building was used as a military recruitment office during the War of Independence to meet the need for soldiers. It is known that Adnan Menderes also served here for a time during this interim period. It consists of two storeys raised above ground level over a basement and has a square plan. Brick and rubble stone were used in the building, with finely dressed cut stone for the window frames. The entrance was emphasised by projecting it forward and supporting it with two columns.
