The station is only 2 kilometres from Sultanhisar Station. There is no settlement here called Karaali; the station actually stands in the village of Kabaca. The presence of a station so close to Sultanhisar, and its name Karaali, are linked to Karaali Efe, who lived and traded here. It is said that Karaali earned his living through trade and opposed the railway line passing through, that as a result the railway company came to terms with the Efe, set up a station here, and gave the Efe a share of the station's revenue.
