Editor's Note
The person buried here is said to be a commander named Mansur b. Cavena, sent here by the Umayyads after they conquered Adiyaman. It is told that when this man came to Adiyaman he found the city in ruins. After having the city's castle repaired, he adorned every part of the city with gardens, and the city was later named Hisn-i Mansur in his honor. The tomb of Mansur b. Cavena is in the city center, a single-room reinforced-concrete structure in the courtyard of a private house at No. 11, Keles Street, Yeni Pinar neighborhood.
