In 1511 he turned the forces of Şahkulu toward Antalya, captured the city and even killed its ruler. Both Persian and Turkish sources, as well as the historical literature, report that Şahkulu's rebellion was accompanied by widespread plunder and pillage. The regions of Kızılcakaya, İstanos, Almalı, Burdur and Keçiborlu fell one after another under the control of Şahkulu Baba's rebels. At Burdur his army was met by Ottoman troops.
