Editor's Note
Located on Taş Camii Caddesi in the Yenice neighborhood of central Burdur, this mosque was first built in AH 1189 / AD 1775 by Hacı Molla Ali, according to its inscription and endowment deed, and was rebuilt after collapsing in the 1914 earthquake. The building, set within a garden, has a near-square, rectangular plan with stone walls and a hip roof covered in Marseille tiles. Within the same garden there is a fountain, a lavatory building, a minaret, a cemetery and an ablution fountain. [1] The cut-stone minaret, separate from the mosque, was built in 1934. The square-plan, tile-roofed building was constructed using a timber-frame system.
