Editor's Note
According to its construction inscription, it was built by Sadenzade Hacı İsmail Ağa in AH Safar 1278 / AD August-September 1861. Originally covered with an earthen roof on wooden posts and having a cut-stone minaret, the building was damaged in the 1914 earthquake; during repairs a wooden roof replaced the earthen one, and a wooden minaret was raised on the stone base of the collapsed minaret (Akkaya, 2007: 36). It is the only mosque in Burdur not completely destroyed in the 1914 earthquake. The mosque's wooden minaret, which bears no inscription, is said to have been built by Kâğıtçı Hacı Süleyman Efendi (Provincial Yearbook, 1955; 99).
