Editor's Note
The inscription of the Kınalızâde Burhan Bey Fountain has been lost. However, in his 1940 study "Burdur 1928," Rıza Erdem recorded the inscription as follows: "The patron of charity, Kınalızâde Burhan Bey, in the year one thousand... in the month of Dhu al-Hijja" (the rest could not be read) (p.44). The fountain was built by Burhan Bey, a member of the Kınalı tribe, for the Eski Yeni Mosque Madrasa (TURKISH ARCHITECTURE IN Burdur PROVINCE, 2007: p.104). In the work "Water Culture and Fountains in Burdur," written by former Burdur mayor Sebahattin Akkaya, the construction date of the Kınalızâde Burhan Bey Fountain is given as 1760. Today it is in a ruined state.
