Editor's Note
The bath is located between the old castle gate and the Eşrefoğlu Mosque, to the west of the covered bazaar. There is no inscription regarding the bath's construction date. Its mention as the "Hamâm-ı Kebîr" (Great Bath) among the properties listed as sources of income in the mosque's endowment deed, found on its crown portal, refers to the present structure. Built as a double bath with separate sections for women and men, the women's section has been completely demolished apart from some remains, while only the men's section has survived. The bath consists of the disrobing room, the cool room, the hot room and the furnace section.
