Ayn Melha Çeşmesi

The Ayn Melha Fountain is located in the Gül neighbourhood of the Artuklu district of Mardin province. The fountain bears no construction inscription, so it is not known when or by whom it was built. Judging by its construction technique, materials and plan, it is thought to date from the 18th-19th centuries. Built using masonry, the fountain was made with cut stone. With its round arch, it belongs to the group of free-standing public square fountains. The fountain niche of this single-basin structure is 2.25 m wide, 2.40 m deep and 2.33 m high.
