The Surgucu neighbourhood is 50 km from the provincial centre of Mardin and 15 km from the Savur district. The abbara (covered passageway) of the Ahmet Aga Mansion, which has an L-shaped plan, connects spaces and streets to one another. Owing to the slope, its height and width vary. With a length of 15.80 m, the abbara has an average height of 3.60 m and a width of 3.83 m. With pointed-arched entrances, the structure is covered by a cross vault. It was built of cut and rubble stone.
