The Provincial Education History Museum lies on 1st Avenue in the Latifiye neighbourhood of the Artuklu district of Mardin Province. The museum building is set in an east-west orientation on a sloping, polygonal site. The three-storey structure, with a courtyard, terraces, arcades and iwans, was built in masonry technique of finely cut stone. Used for cultural purposes, the building has today been turned into a museum under the Ministry of National Education. The ground floor is entered from the east and the first floor from the north, through openings of various forms.
