The Halife Mosque lies in the Diyarbakirkapi neighbourhood of the Artuklu district of Mardin Province. Although the Mufti's Office sign gives the date 1374, according to the inscription on the pediment of the mosque entrance it was built in AH 1274 (AD 1857). Built in masonry technique, the mosque uses finely cut stone. The mosque, set on a rectangular plan, is entered through a semicircular-arched opening on the north side. The rectangular prayer hall measures 9.75 m east-west and 4.70 m north-south.
