The Peygamber Mosque, believed to have been built in honour of the Prophet Circis (Saint George), stands in the Kamberiye neighbourhood, next to the Mufti's Office building. Lying outside the old Urfa city walls when it was built, the structure is regarded as the shrine of the Prophet Circis. It is one of the churches that were converted into mosques. The building bears two inscriptions, as well as a Syriac inscription.
