The Mor Yakob Syriac Church of Arıca Village was built in the center of Arıca village in the Gercüş district of Batman Province, set upon bedrock and cave structures. The rectangular, single-nave church consists of a naos, bema, narthex and gallery sections; it is covered with a barrel vault inside and a flat earthen roof above. The naos walls feature blind niches, an apse, a pastophorion chamber and a bema section, while the gallery level is made up of three parts. The church was built with cut stone, rubble stone and cas mortar, and most of it has been restored with appropriate workmanship.
