Editor's Note
Bezabde (Bazabde) was a fortress city on the eastern Roman frontier, in the region of Zabdicene. It played a role in the 4th-century Roman-Persian Wars and was besieged twice in 360 by the Sasanians under Shapur II, despite fierce resistance from three Roman legions. Ceded to the Sasanians by the Perso-Roman peace treaty of 363, it then disappeared from the historical record.
