The Kuyuburnu Castle is located in the Değirmenli (Susik) hamlet of the Bayraklı (Gırêsor) neighborhood, 10.8 km from the Derik district of Mardin province. Known to locals as "Kela Poza Bira," the castle stands about 3 km east of the Değirmenli (Susik) hamlet, on the southern slope of a high mountain that dominates the region. The site was fortified by making use of the natural features of the terrain. The castle spreads over an area measuring 135 m east to west and 40 m north to south.
