The Gâvur Fırını (Infidel's Oven) is the southern extension of a row of mountain heights running along the eastern side of the district's foothills. Separated from the chain of heights by a wide gap, it takes the form of a well carved in a circle through the middle of the rise, whose depth is said never to have been measured. Despite many attempts to descend the well, which widens steadily toward the foot of the mountain, it is said that no one has ever managed to reach the very bottom. The well's local name, Gâvur Fırını, has given rise to many rumors and legends.
