The Germanicia Mosaics were uncovered in the Dulkadiroğlu district of Kahramanmaraş, mainly in the Bağlarbaşı and Namık Kemal neighborhoods. Originally the floor pavements of Roman-era hillside villas, these mosaics date to the Late Roman and Early Byzantine periods. Excavations carried out so far have brought mosaics to light across four separate dig sites, on a total of 17 plots. The mosaics are valuable not only for their decoration but also as a source that sheds light on the political, social, cultural, and economic life of the era.
