Editor's Note
From the mosque's endowment records, it is understood that it was commissioned by Zulkadirzade Ali Bey in 1806. Having undergone repairs many times, the mosque has survived to the present partly retaining its original features. Counted among the wooden-ceilinged mosques, the Durakli Mosque consists of a rectangular-plan prayer hall built of rough-hewn stone, a single-balcony minaret built of cut stone, and the madrasa on the east of the courtyard. It is reported that three young men martyred in the War of Independence lie in the graves on the west side of the courtyard.
