Çelebiler Konağı

Editor's Note

It is known that the Celebiler Mansion was commissioned by the professor (muderris) Ali Efendi. Although its construction date cannot be determined precisely, its architectural and structural features indicate that the building belongs to the Late Ottoman period. The house has an inner-hall plan and was built with a ground floor plus two upper floors. The outer walls use adobe infill between wooden tie-beams, while lath-and-plaster (bagdadi) was used in the partitions. Set on the north of the plot, the building faces south, where there is also a courtyard. The courtyard entrance gate is located on the southeast, sheet-metal-clad and rectangular in plan.
