Editor's Note
The monumental tomb is built of cut stone and consists of a body resting on a high base and a vaulted covering system over the body. The east, west, and south façades of the tomb are arched, while the north façade has been closed off with a wall, leaving a rectangular door opening in its lower-middle section. The four bulky piers that made up the tomb's body have here given way to arches resting on Corinthian-capitaled columns. In this way the building has gained an elegant appearance.
