Editor's Note
According to a title deed dated 1903, the mansion belonged to Mıcırıkyan Kirkor Efendi, one of the leading figures of the Armenian community. A friend of the Turks, Kirkor Efendi came to be called "Yaver" (aide-de-camp) over time because of his frequent assistance to state officials. When Kirkor Efendi was killed in an assassination in 1919, the deed passed to his sons, daughters, and mother. The mansion was finally sold to the Province of Seyhan on September 12, 1933. In 1944 it was put up for sale by public auction by the Province of Seyhan; in 1948 it was registered in the name of Emine Arıkan, who had begun living there from the end of 1936.
