On Mahallaç Hill (2,283 meters), the highest point of Karadağ, there is a Latin-cross-plan church of cut stone, a free-cross-plan funerary chapel to the north of the church, a monastery building to the west, and cisterns in the courtyard between them. These structures are connected to one another by stone passageways. The Mahallaç church is dated to between the 4th and 6th centuries.
