Şeyhömerli is an old settlement in the Ulukışla district of Niğde province, and its name is believed to come from Sheikh Ömer, who according to legend lived in the village. The tomb in the upper part of the village cemetery was, according to local belief, built over the grave of Sheikh Ömer Adulî and is one of the oldest pilgrimage sites in the region. The building's foundation inscription reads the date AH 1080 / AD 1669; according to the inscription, the structure was commissioned by Sheikh Rüstem and built by Sheikh Yakub.
