Editor's Note
The mosque stands in the area known as the Ketenli neighbourhood square. It is also called the "Hamamüstü Mosque" ("Above the Bath Mosque"). It is thought to take its name from a bath, now lost, that once stood nearby. On its western corner is an inscription bearing the date "1290" (AH 1290 / AD 1874). Following restoration, the inscription was left beneath plaster and can no longer be read today.
