Editor's Note
Ortapayam Han is a 13th-century Seljuk caravanserai located on the Kesikbeli Caravan Road, on the route linking Konya with the port cities of Alanya and Antalya. It stands at an altitude of 1,150 metres near Konya's Derebucak district, to the north of the Gembos Plain. Rectangular in plan, the building consists of a single interior space and has a vaulted roof supported by stone arches. The rectangular buttresses on the south facade are striking, while the walls are mortar-filled and faced on the exterior with cut stone. The building shows architectural similarities to other caravanserais of similar plan, such as Sarapsa Han and Derebucak Tol Han.
