In M. Kemal Ozergin's 1965 work 'Seljuk Caravanserais in Anatolia', one of the important sources on Anatolian Seljuk-period buildings, the 'Ebu'l Hasan Han' is mentioned when caravanserai number 29 is described. Ozergin cites Kurt Erdmann as his source for this information. Erdmann, in turn, recorded this building under number 79 in his work, though it appears he did not visit it himself and recorded it instead on the basis of hearsay and second-hand information.
