Editor's Note
After the first American Girls' College in Antep moved into its own building (1866), enrollment steadily grew, and ten years later a larger new building was constructed for the college. From this it is understood that the new college building, built sometime after 1876, stood right next to the American Hospital, suffered a fire in the early 1900s, and was afterward rebuilt as an even larger structure.
